The Journey

And Then My Love You'll Know

From a Sinatra Soul to a Cowgirl's Heart

William Mason                                                                                                                                                        April 12, 2011

Original Poem:

When the velvet night has fallen,

when you’re listening to its stars

While tenderly they sing to you

of dreams and hearts’ desires,

You’ll know my soul-felt song, my love,

the warmth it’s meant to bring …

You’ll know whate’er the season,

with you it’s ever-spring.

You’ll hear my song in starlight,

You’ll see it in moon-glow,

You’ll feel it in the nighttime breeze,

And then, my love, you’ll know.

When the moon is softly rising,

when you seek its gentle glow

While lovingly it lifts you

with tears from long ago,

You’ll know my soul-felt song, my love,

the warmth it’s meant to bring …

You’ll know whate’er the season,

with you it’s ever-spring.

You’ll hear my song in starlight,

You’ll see it in moon-glow,

You’ll feel it in the nighttime breeze,

And then, my love, you’ll know.

When warmly the breeze caresses,

when you search its fond embrace

While longing for a future

o’erflowing with love and faith

You’ll know my soul-felt song, my love,

the warmth it’s meant to bring …

You’ll know whate’er the season,

with you it’s ever-spring.

You’ll hear my song in starlight,

You’ll see it in moon-glow,

You’ll feel it in the nighttime breeze,

And then my love you’ll know.

Song Lyric:

When the velvet night has fallen,

when you’re listening to its bright stars

While tenderly they sing to you

of life’s dreams and hearts’ desires,

You will know my soul-felt love song,

and the warmth it’s meant to bring …

You will know whate’er the season, dear,

with you it’s ever-spring.

You’ll hear my song in starlight,

You’ll see it in moon-glow,

You’ll feel it in the nighttime breeze,

And then, my love, you’ll know.

When the moon is slowly rising,

when you seek its soft, gentle glow

While lovingly it lifts you

with tears from long ago,

You will know my soul-felt love song,

and the warmth it’s meant to bring …

You will know whate’er the season, dear,

with you it’s ever-spring.

You’ll hear my song in starlight,

You’ll see it in moon-glow,

You’ll feel it in the nighttime breeze,

And then, my love, you’ll know.

And when warmly the breeze caresses,

when you search its fond embrace

While longing for a future

full of love and hope and faith

You will know my soul-felt love song,

and the warmth it’s meant to bring …

You will know whate’er the season, dear,

with you it’s ever-spring.

You’ll hear my song in starlight,

You’ll see it in moon-glow,

You’ll feel it in the nighttime breeze,

And then, my love, you’ll know …

And then my love you’ll know.
